🌟 How It All Began
Hi! I’m Stephanie — the obsessive quilter, colour-lover, and creative heart behind Sunny Quilt Creative. My journey started in 2020 after struggling to source all the right materials to make the A Place for Everything bag. The frustration was real — hunting down every zipper, mesh piece, notion, and stabilizer felt overwhelming.
That experience sparked a simple but powerful idea:
What if quilters could buy a kit that had everything they needed in one place?
No stress. No searching. Just pure creative joy.
In 2021, I launched my shop on Etsy with a small, curated collection of all-in-one kits designed to take the frustration out of crafting. From there, the business grew to include finished quilts, handmade gifts, and patterns — and eventually blossomed into the modern, colour-forward quilt shop now known as Sunny Quilt Creative.
🎨 A Lifelong Creative Journey
I’ve been a lifelong creative and come from a family of talented artisans; so handmade beauty has surrounded me my whole life. I’ve also tried my hand at MANY different creative outlets, but quilting has become my passion.
Recently retired, I’m thrilled to devote this chapter of life to something meaningful, joyful, and full of colour.
Quilting has always been about inspiration and happiness for me, and I created my first quilts when I was in high school with guidance from my wonderful mom! This is why I believe the process should feel uplifting, accessible, and stress-free without any pressure from the imaginary “Quilt Police”!!!

I love curating beautiful colour combinations and bringing together modern fabrics, patterns, and palettes that remove the stress of choosing colours.
Fabric selection should spark joy — not anxiety — and my goal is to make that part easier for every maker.

📚 Teaching, Creativity & Supporting Designers
I’m especially passionate about teaching, modern quilting, and creative colour play, and I hope to expand this side of the business soon with trunk shows, workshops, and hands-on learning opportunities.
It’s also incredibly important to me to support small independent designers like Lorna Costantini, whose modern approach and clear, accessible patterns I admire deeply.
