Do you ship across Canada?

Are you a Canadian quilt shop?

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes. Local pickup is available in Welland, Ontario by appointment. Once your order is ready, you'll receive pickup instructions and scheduling information.

Do you sell fabric by the metre?

Yes. Most quilting fabrics are sold in ¼ metre increments, allowing you to purchase exactly the amount you need for your project. Many fabrics can also be cut as fat quarters upon request. Please check individual product listings for details.

What is a fat quarter?

A fat quarter is a popular quilting fabric cut measuring approximately 20" x 22". Unlike a traditional quarter metre cut, a fat quarter provides a wider piece of fabric, making it ideal for quilting, appliqué, bag making, and smaller sewing projects.

What makes your quilt kits different?

Our quilt kits are thoughtfully curated with coordinated fabric selections, making it easier to start your project with confidence. Rather than spending hours choosing fabrics, you can enjoy a professionally coordinated colour palette that works beautifully together. Most kits include the pattern and fabrics needed for the quilt top and binding.

Can I substitute fabrics in a quilt kit?

Most quilt kits are sold as curated collections and fabric substitutions are not available. Each kit is carefully designed to achieve a specific look and colour balance. However, if you're inspired by a kit and would like help creating a custom version, feel free to reach out.

Are your patterns beginner-friendly?

Many of our patterns are suitable for beginners and confident beginners. We provide clear product descriptions to help you choose a pattern that matches your skill level. We also carry patterns from designers known for their detailed instructions and approachable teaching style.

What thread do you recommend for Big Stitch Hand Quilting?

We love Valdani Perle Cotton Size 12 — smooth, vibrant, and perfect for texture-rich stitching.  It creates beautiful stitch definition, comes in an incredible range of colours, and glides smoothly through quilt layers. We carry a wide selection of colours so you can find the perfect match for your project.

What supplies do you recommend for Big Stitch Hand Quilting?

For Big Stitch hand quilting, I typically recommend Chenille needles, a comfortable thimble, and a needle puller for extra grip. Popular choices include Clover Gold Eye Chenille Needles, Bohin Chenille Needles, Protect & Grip Thimbles, and rubber or silicone needle pullers. These tools help make hand quilting more comfortable and enjoyable.

Do you carry bag-making supplies?

Yes! We stock a growing selection of bag-making supplies, including ByAnnie patterns, hardware, stabilizers, notions, tools, and accessories. Whether you're making your first zippered pouch or tackling a larger project, we're continually expanding our collection.

Are your fabrics suitable for quilting and bag making?
