The Studio 180 Design Four Patch Square Up Tool helps create accurate four-patch units without relying on perfect piecing from the start.
Four-patch blocks can be surprisingly difficult to keep square, even when the seams appear to line up. This tool uses Studio 180 Design's oversize-and-trim method. Sew the unit slightly larger than needed, then use the ruler to trim it to the correct size.
The printed lines help align the ruler with the centre point and sewn seams, allowing all four sides to be trimmed evenly. Finished units have straight edges, properly positioned seams, and consistent measurements.
The tool creates 12 finished unit sizes from 1/2" to 6" in 1/2" increments.
